Profile are delighted to announce that Pegasus has now released Fixed Assets on the Opera 3 SQL SE platform. Now is the perfect time to get yourself upgraded!

As you will be aware from our previous emails, Pegasus Opera 3 SQL SE has been available for some time now as an upgrade for Opera 3 customers. Fixed Assets has now been released for Opera 3 SQL SE. Have you spoken to your Account Manager yet about your upgrade?
Fixed Assets allows your organisation to maintain a complete register of all company assets. Various depreciation methods are available to automatically calculate and post the journals. The module includes links to the Purchase and Nominal Ledgers so you can track the full lifecycle and value of the asset from purchase to disposal.
Opera 3 SQL SE is Pegasus’ roadmap for the future, combining the familiar look and feel of Opera 3 with additional optimised code and increased data capacity. Businesses will have the power to schedule tasks to perform in the background whilst they get on with their day-to-day work, due to the SQL Server and the server-side processing it contains. Alternatively, you even have the choice to run data intensive processes out of working hours.

Are you ready for Reverse Charge VAT?

Don’t get caught out, Reverse Charge VAT is coming…
There are major changes to the way VAT is collected in the building and construction industry coming into effect on 1st March 2021

If you are not prepared, there could be serious consequences for your business. The reverse charge will affect building and construction services provided at the standard or reduced rates of VAT that also need to be reported under CIS. There are types of work that are unaffected by the legislative changes. To find out more about Reverse Charge VAT in Pegasus CIS & Opera 3, download the datasheet here.
To comply with Reverse Charge VAT, CIS users are required to install the latest version of CIS (v4.10), which contains new features to support the changes. You can read what new features are included to accommodate Reverse Charge VAT on our website. Opera 3 users who are affected by these legislative changes will also need to ensure their Opera system is compliant, even if they do not use Pegasus CIS. The functionality is already available in the software so please make sure you talk to us about options for training on the system configuration.

With Brexit on the horizon on December 31st 2020, it’s key you understand as a business the changes that are upcoming and what your organisation must do to align with new Government legislations. On January 1st 2021, the transition period with the European Union (EU) will end and the United Kingdom (UK) will operate a full, external border which means that controls will be placed on the movement of goods between Great Britain (GB) and the EU. This will be similar to the rules that currently apply to movement of good with non-EU countries.
